Conditions in IDP camps have created a breeding ground for violence against women and girls and opportunity for instances of transactional sex to occur. In January 2011, UNHCR in Port-au-Prince conducted a field study which sought to expose the relationship between food insecurity and the rise in transactional sex, below is the report of their findings.
